Boy it's been awhile, but I can say that post college life is a rocky one these days. I'm doing well with a new job and home! It's great to be back in Minnesota, even if it is still cold. Though it has been a remarkably mild winter.
So in moving to a new place, as all artists know leads to changing muses. I can't even begin to describe how much mine have changed. Of course I'm still in love with dreamscapes and conceptualization of abstract concepts in a variety of mediums, but there is something different that has been nagging my mind.
I've been drawn into the rolling landscapes cut by minnesotan rivers. The starkness of the winter fields are calling for me to put them onto paper. I long to put down the brilliance of February sunset's bursting indescribable vibrance and motion against the dormancy and biting cold.
Now I have never been a landscape artist or drawn to planes. However I'm so excited to take what I know of line-work and the limitations of working in pen and pencil to create a body of work that describes the new home I've found.
What a lovely challenge to take a step away from paint and dive into something new.
Here are some sketches from my developing body of work that isolates starkness, severity, and serenity of winter landscapes.
Below are thumbnail sketches:

Why I create: to encourage my fellow artists to throw away the idealized model for men and women and show the uniqueness of individuals and diversity our people. I'm not saying down with the patriarchy or society. I just want equal love for ourselves and others. There is no reason to put other people down to raise ourselves up.
"Because the best result will come...from everyone in the group doing what's best for himself...and the group." -Beautiful Mind, in contradiction to the principals outlined by Adam Smith.
If WE all follow our dreams and hearts, even if it is raising a family, delivering mail, or developing cardiovascular software; we will succeed, only if we maintain our focus on our community as well.

I have been having a great time putting some of my designs into new presentations. I've had an incredible time diving into and learning about print design! so So SO much fun
So as you can see I've done a little rebranding, I've been trying to incorporate more of me, and less of what I think everyone wants to see. Funny thing is... I think it looks a lot better. Take a stroll through the website, there is lots of new imagery and design work to look through.
Thank you everyone for the support!
This design challenge is to create a graphic with a tool that is completely foreign to me.
Design Challenge 23, was to draw something that I have always found difficult to draw. So landscapes :D
Tandem is a ceramic container of which the top container nests securely within the bottom container. I thought of this product when I brought my coffee and oatmeal to class in two different mugs every morning.
